"WYSIWYG" Exemplar: ENVY

Integrated environment
- Special browsers are required to fully integrate versioning features
and provide
access to the code module structure.
Error avoidance
- Operations that would cause module integrity errors are usually
disabled on the menus
("grayed out").
- Rather than allow the developer to charge ahead, resolving errors
later, errors are
prevented whenever possible (there are some exceptions, to be explained
later).
- To minimize developer annoyance, the underlying concepts of
managing Smalltalk source
code under ENVY must be learned by the developers. ENVY training by the
vendor or
another ENVY expert is almost a necessity.
