More about ...
SmallDoc
We've found the "public/private" facility of ENVY to be somewhat
limited, and have developed a simple facility for explicitly
declaring inter-module interfaces. Only the
class/selector is declared; the commentary is automatically pulled
from the named method.
External
Interfaces Browser
|
Our External Interfaces Browser provides access to this
facility, which is easily "rolled up" into a document via
hyper-link. The highlighted link in the application comment
in the Library Browser
shown above would insert in its place when the documentation
is "expanded or linearized", all of the methods and their
comments that are not italicized in the Methods list of the
browser to the left.
|
|
All the facilities of SmallDoc are available via
customizable
templates at the app/subapp, class, and class extension
level. A typical template contains numerous hyper links to
documentation components, that
when
expanded, recursively "rolls up" the hyper links to show
a linearized version for printing or browsing.

Paste Back Window
|
The result of clicking on the highlighted link in the
class comment
template above is the opening of the template-support
window to the left.
We call this window a "paste back" because that is what
happens when the writer accepts the text in the window.

This is but a sampling of some of the more salient bits of
SmallDoc. SmallDoc is highly customizable, so contact
us about your needs!
