Fallen Hero
Description:
I spend the afternoon in a cemetery near Silverton, Oregon, and find this poignant scene. Embedded in grass clippings, the toy soldiers had obviously been there for some time.
I don't know if the wind and rain toppled the once-standing toy soldiers, or if they were placed in their fallen positions as a statement of the inevitable outcome of war.
